The Site
Hello-Love.net was registered in May in 2006. I design my layouts in Paint Shop Pro 7 and Photoshop CS, and code them with Editpad Lite. Everything else that is thrown into the melting pot known as my site can be found here.
Why Hello-Love?
After having Sunkissd.net, I wanted a more mellow sounding name. After many, many attempts at coming up with a nice, catchy domain name, I thought up the name Hello-Love. There’s no real meaning behind it, but love is one of my many favorite emotions, and everyone likes the feeling of love at first sight.
Before Now
I started webdesigning when I was 11 years old. My first website was on Expage and it was a site dedicated to my cat, Tango. I only had one small page about him and no pictures because I didn’t have a camera. I actually was gaining a fair amount of traffic for having just a simple website revolving around nothing but my cat. A year later, I starting using simple pre-made layouts and then decided to switch to Geocites. While on Geocities, I started to really enjoy having a daily blog. I would blog almost every single day. Once I started to get actual visitors, I figured that I would need some content to get more traffic. However, I didn’t like the idea of having to make a website for every single page I wanted, which made me switch to freesites. That was when I really started to use HTML. By then I was making my own layouts and coding them all by myself. Eventually I was able to find someone to host me. I spent about a year with a sub-domain, until I bought my own. My first domain name was Faded-Emotions.com. I had that domain for a little over a year, as well as hosted a few people. My site went through a lot of changes, including switching hosting providers twice. In May of 2003, I switched to Sunkissd.net. Over time I learned many new webdesigning techniques, including how to use Photoshop and PHP. In Late May of 2006, my domain expired. I decided that I wanted a new domain, and came up with Hello-Love.net. I had no idea where I wanted to be hosted, and I wanted to buy a domain name + package at the same place. After a little research, my good friend Brandy told me that her friend and former host Penita sold hosting packages + domains. I purchase an extremely afforadable package for $25, including my hosting & domain name.
