The Q*Bee..The Best Club on the Net
Filed under Q*Bee, WebsitesBack in 2004 when I wasn’t too great at web designing, I stumbled upon a website called The Quilting Bee. It seemed like a cute and popular place to be apart of, so I figured I would give it a try. However, after reading the rules, I realized that my skills nor my website were ready to take on an avid quilt yet. I was seriously bummed. So, I spent days and days fixing up my website until finally I felt like it was up to status for The Quilting Bee. I quickly and eagerly signed up, placed up my waiting for approval quilt, and awaited the coveted “you’ve been accepted” e-mail. A few days went by and I didn’t hear from anyone. I got kind of worried. Finally, a couple of days later I got an e-mail. I had been rejected! My website did not have enough about myself, so until I got that fixed I wouldn’t be able to become a member. So, I started working on my site again. I added tons and tons of information about myself and reapplied. The next day, I got the acceptance e-mail! I was so happy. However, I was still kind of scared on how my pixelling skills would be judged, so my first few patches weren’t the best:
I know, it’s not much compared to all the wonderful patches other bees have made over the past few years. I felt great that I had accomplished something toward being a great member though. Other bees thought my first patch was the cutest thing ever despite what I thought about it..It even won the “creative patch” award a few weeks later!
Over the last few years I have grown to love The Quilting Bee. Everyone there is so nice and helpful you just don’t know what to do with yourself! Especially if you join the Bee*Bee*S (The Quilting Bee’s messaging board) I find myself sitting here for hours at a time chatting up all over the board. I just can’t get enough of it
not only is there that but over the coarse of the year there are numerous activities you can partake in and win awards such as cute little mushrooms that display on your profile, award patches, and now a new implementation of a points system!
It’s all so much fun to be apart of, I don’t know what I would do without it.
So, don’t be scared! If you join and end up getting rejected the first time like I did, don’t give up! Just try to fix what is keeping you from being accepted and join again. You won’t regret it and you will have so much fun. You never know, you just might get addicted

New GOOD LOOKING layout :)
Filed under Q*Bee, Themes***NOTE: I’m going through my pages and validating them as I go, so if you see anything funny looking right now, it’s becuase I’m currently editing
Don’t fret, it will be fixed eventually I promise!***
So as you can see I finally got creative and made a really nice looking layout. This is the first layout I’ve drawn myself, other than the Halloween layout I had up a couple years ago (the house was halfway drawn for me already, but I spent a while adding extras onto it and coloring it in the way I wanted it to be) which you can click below to see
I think I did pretty good considering it’s only my second drawing
I know that I had written on my front page that I was “Revamping” but I figured I might as well put this layout up once i finished, so here it is in all it’s glory. I’m going to be working on all of my pages, fixing them up, adding a ton of things in the “about me” section and maybe some tutorials, once I actually finish adding my style to all of them :/ So look forward to some new pages popping up around! :DOh, and by the way, if you’re here on Quilting Bee eggies business, I have seven eggies hidden around my site. Good luck finding them!
