As of late I have been MIA, at least from the internet that is. This summer has not been completely how I’ve wanted it to be. I haven’t really done much of anything this past month that I had planned on doing. I’ve been lazy and boring and I need to fix that! So, the first thing I’m going to do in this what I call my “Summer attitude turn-around plan thingy” is clean my messy room. Yes, I have definitely been letting myself and my living habits go. Maximus is literally begging me to clean his litter box so that’s on my to-do list for today as well. My car is pretty messy on the inside too, so I definitely have a lot on my plate for today. hence this is why my blog has been baren from my presence and will be for a little bit longer. OH, and I just realized that my comment form is now broken. Great! Just another thing I need to fix today!

My Life is a Horrible Mess

This weekend was supposed to be the start of something nice: Spring Break. That’s what I thought..but it hasn’t happened that way. Thursday night my mother came home extremely drunk at 1 in the morning, screaming and cursing at me while kicking down my door and the walls. Both Andy and I were so scared of her that we decided to just leave. We called my dad and asked if we could stay since we had to be up at 6AM for a Government exam and fortunately he said yes. We stayed the night and went to class the next morning. After my exam my Grandpa called me and chewed me out about leaving last night and told me how I was in the wrong for it. Excuse me? I was scared and I ran. How could I be in the wrong for that? I’m not a little girl anymore and I can leave the house when I feel like it, especially when I feel how I felt that night. Andy and I have stayed away from my mother’s house since then. My grandparents are furious with me and I honestly don’t know why. I had to come home today because they’re planning a little “talk” about mine and Andy’s relationship..like it’s any of their business. Here comes the part that’s hard for me to talk about..Andy decided he wasn’t going to put up with my mom’s crap (or my grandparents either) anymore and moved out. He’s going to be living with my dad for a while until we can afford to move into an apartment together. I feel so alone without him here..I’m going to have a very, very hard time sleeping at night without him by my side anymore. I don’t know how to cope with all of this. I haven’t spoken to my mother since then and I don’t plan on speaking to her for a while, but I’ll probably have to tonight at the “family meeting”. I wanted to ask everyone for their input on what I should do to cope..I saw this beautiful kitty at Petsmart that reminded me of Tango and I wanted to buy him right then and there, but I know my mom won’t allow me to have a kitty in my room. I really think that would help me in coping with Andy not being in my room with me anymore. Opinions? So, my main point for this blog is to explain what has been going on and why i’ll be taking a break from my website. I’m not going to have access to a computer for a while. I’ll be around the internet with my Blackberry, but for now I’m going to take a hiatus from my website until further notice, or at least until I can get my life back in order.

Ready For Something New

I’m tired of looking at myself and seeing the same old Amber.. every.. darn.. day. So tonight, I’m dying the tips of my hair..dun, dun, duuuun!!1! RED. Yes, red. With my hair color I think it will look very accenting. I’m about to do it right after I finish posting this blog entry Last night was amazing. I went out to get him his gifts and ended up getting with 2 pairs of boxers, one with Snoopy and Woodstock, and another red pair, some chocolate covered fortune cookies, and a huge Reese’s Piece’s heart. He loved it all, of course His gift was the best, though. He got me a stuffed puppy with a heart in it’s mouth that says “Kiss Me” on it, some sugar-free chocolate (since I’m currently on Weight Watchers) and the best part was a mini puppy that says “I Wuv You, bark, bark!” when you squeeze it. What’s so great about that? you say? There was a ring on the key chain part, that’s what! It’s so pretty. It has diamonds around the whole part and it’s silver. I love it He also home-made me a card that made me cry. It was so beautiful After we exchanged gifts he made the best chicken fettuccine alfredo I’ve ever eaten. The rest of the night was just as amazing, but I won’t go into details Anyway, time to go dye my tips! Toodles

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Well, happy February the 14th guys. If you’ve visited my site over the past week, you probably noticed a lot of errors in my layout. Well, it’s all fixed now My code was an absolute mess, and wasn’t validated all to hell. But that’s enough about that. I also implemented Gravatars in the comments (finally) and fixed my block-quotes as you can see in my previous post. I’m still iffy on the CSS because I’ve basically had the same coding for my past 5-6 layouts. I might be tweaking that just a bit over this weekend. It all just depends. I’ll also probably update some pages that need an update really bad. But anyway, I hope everyone likes the new look!

I’ve received valentines from people on The Q*Bee. We decided to swap addresses and have one secret valentine to send to anonymously. I have four so far along with my secret valentine who I figured out almost immediately :). They are from Miranda of Silly Little Panda, Heather of At0mica, a special valentine from my secret valentine, Diane of CCDiane, Ashley of Rainbow-Stuff, and Christine of Crumped Paper! I’ve been reading a lot everywhere that many people don’t have plans for today / tonight. Luckily, I do. Andy has something special planned for us this evening and I’m excited to find out what it is. I still haven’t bought his present, though. I have to head out today to do that and maybe I’ll find some good sales I really don’t know what to get him, though. He doesn’t want candy or anything stuffed. I’ll probably end up making him something or trying to find something unique. I’ll just have to see when I go shopping. I started Weight Watchers on Tuesday. Not just because I want to lose weight, but I also need to start eating healthier and exercising. I’ve let myself make some unhealthy choices over the past couple of years and it’s starting to catch up with me if you know what I mean. So this is my first week on the diet and it’s been going pretty good. My next weigh-in is on this upcoming Tuesday and I’m excited to see how I’ve done. If I’ve lost 5 pounds, that would be great, but even if I only lost 1, that’s great as well. we’ll just have to see It’s getting kind of late in the day and I need to go get Andy’s gift before all the stores run out. Starbucks, Bath & Body Works, and Lots More

Yesterday morning I received a phone call from Starbucks asking me to come to an interview at 6 tomorrow How cool is that? I barely turned in my application 24 hours before and already was being contacted. They must think I’m the greatest (of course I am!) . So tomorrow will be pretty busy for me. I have class from 8 to 11:30 AM and a Algebra review session from 5-6 (which I’ll have to leave early now) and then the interview. So I have to look all nice and pretty before 4:30PM.

After I left college yesterday, Andy and I headed over to the mall to visit Bath & Body Works. I didn’t want to go to the one I recently applied at because I figured I’d feel out of place and weird there having been denied a job. I went there with a coupon for 20% off my entire purchase and also one for a free bottle of lotion. Of course I used both. I bought Irresistable Apple body splash, Black Amethyst body splash, Pumpkin Spice pumpkin candle, A 3-pack of the limited edition Forever Festive holiday scents, and my free bottle of Sweet Pea lotion. Now, normally all this stuff would cost $50, but with my coupon and an additional free $10 item coupon one of the clerks gave me, the cost was brought down to just under $20. I’m always the best shopper

I have to pick my sister up from school in a few minutes so this blog is getting cut short. Toodles!

Terrible Mood

I’m updating from my iPod in Starbucks right now. I called Bath & Body Works today and found out that I didn’t get the job. I guess when I thought I didn’t do well in the interview, I really didn’t. Oh well. So to counterract that and to also cheer myself up, I’ve been dropping off applications at numerous Starbucks and also Barnes & Noble and Michael’s Craft Store. Hopefully at least one of them will call me within he next couple of days. I was told by an employee at one of the Starbucks to call around noon tomorrow because a recruiter would be there. I hope it all works out in my favor because I am broke, broke, broke and I’m so tired of it!

New Theme, Yay!

Even though I’m a huge fan of Halloween, I just couldn’t stand my site looking so gloomy and dark any longer. So here is a new theme it’s based off one of my previous themes. Click Here to view it There’s many differences but I kept some elements I favored. Which one do you think is better?

Last weekend Andy and I went to a Halloween party, so we got to dress up in our costumes! It was a lot of fun especially since I got to do both of our makeup myself. Before the party we had to go shopping around to find me a cat tail and andy some dog ears and a dog collar. Party City had some for $10 so I went ahead and got them for him. He looked so good in his costume, especially the way I did his makeup I bought some clip-on whiskers which looked a lot better than just drawing whiskers on my face with makeup. They only cost $2.00 too and I can reuse them over and over. What do you think about our costumes? We have to wear them again on Halloween night so hopefully I can recreate how I did my magic that night. Now, I know it might be a bit childish and dumb but both me and him are actually thinking about going Trick-or-Treating this year. Firstly, because we want some free candy. The people give out whole candy bars in this ritzy rich neighborhood a few miles away which is totally awesome Secondly, we love doing silly stuff together, especially when it involves us dressing up and acting like little kids! Third, there’s nothing else we could do that night. No one that I know is having a party so we have to figure out something to do. So, that seems like a good plan for the both of us

I’ve been doing really well in my college classes lately. I’ve started to really pay attention in class so I can actually learn things for once instead of blowing everything off until exam days I’ve also been working on my procrastination problem by doing all my assignments the day I get them, or at least within a few days time. So far my plan has been working successfully.

This weekend is the Wings Over Houston Airshow. I really want to go but the tickets are $15 if I buy them by midnight tonight or $20 at the door. The weather has been absolutely beautiful since Fall started, so that just might be enough to persuade me into going with Andy Oh, and I’m also still waiting for Bath & Body Works to call me. I hope they do by this evening! I wish I could update more right now, but if I want to goto the airshow I need to get my butt working on my homework. Toodles!

Busy, Busy Busy!

Whew! I have been a mess lately. I’ve been very, very busy with getting back to school and settling back into a regular daily routine. Finally I’ve managed to do that. I’m still a tiny bit behind on some school work but other than that I’m fine and dandy. I’ve put a Halloween theme up to be festive and all since October is my favorite month of the year (other than December of course :D) Hope you guys like it. Andy and I have been job hunting and stuff. I sent an application to Bath & Body Works for a seasonal job earlier tonight. I hope they hire me I think it’d be nice working there, especially since they get a nice discount on things Well, I didn’t plan on doing a big update until later tomorrow night, so check in then. College, Hurricanes, and Drama

So, I’ve been gone for over a month now and had planned to come back to my online abode last week, but Hurricane Ike got in the way. Talk about a wicked storm. If any of you guys have been watching the news coverage on it, believe me watching it on tv is nothing like seeing it in person. Friday night my family and I “evacuated” to my grandmother’s house. She lives only 7 miles away from us by the way.The main point as to why we went there was because my family and I live in a trailer (not the dumpy trailer park kind- it’s a very nice quad trailer..bigger than most of my friends’ houses!) so we figured it’d be a lot safer to ride the storm out in a house. Big mistake. Let me list a lot of what went on. We had power until around 10pm when the winds really started picking up. I have never seen such high winds in my life. Transformers were popping all over the neighborhood making the sky flash bright green. A telephone pole caught on fire across the street and we had to call the fire department. Around 3 in the morning after a lot of trees had broken in the front yard making it completely inaccessable unless you drove a bulldozer through it..a huge tree limb falls on the roof and right onto the porch, casting a baby robin right through the front door. Luckily it lived but I think it’s foot and wing were broken. Where we were, we got the Western eyewall of the storm which is where the highest winds come from. It peaked at about 120 MPH, much greater than a supposed category 2 hurricane has. So for that reason, my grandmother’s house got hit a whole lot worse than my house. A telephone pole fell in my grandparent’s back yard ripping out the power box and completely damaging the back fence. I fell asleep around 7AM, an hour or so after the eye passed over us. I woke up extremely sweaty around 2PM. The power was out so there was no AC. I was so mad and frustrated. Andy and I went walking around the neighborhood to see what kind of damage took place. There were so many trees uprooted everywhere the neighborhood was inaccessible. I ended up getting stuck 3 foot in some mud and lost a shoe on the way. I spent 20 minutes trying to dig it out while one of the neighbors decided he was going to try and give me his stand-up comedy act. I never got my shoe. So it’s still 3 feet in the ground in front of some stranger’s house. Talk about a lot to deal with.We came back to my house Saturday evening and took the baby robin we brought with us out of the box and it was dead My mom thinks it died from internal injuries. On the other hand, we got power the next morning. Yay! Anyway, I’m waiting for Andy and my mother to come back from thr grocery store. A lot of the city still doesn’t have power yet so school has been canceled until Monday 9/22. Woopie! I’ve gotten a nice week and a half long vacation for all of this. So, I’m going to be busy with recovering from the storm and stuff so don’t expect many updates for a while. I apologize! I’ll try and blog every once in a while just so everyone knows I’m still alive and all

Hiatus Until Mid-September

That’s right, I’m going on a short term hiatus. This Wednesday I’m leaving for California! I’m so excited I can’t hardly wait. I’m in the process of packing and all, trying not to forget anything I’m going to need. When I get back I’ll be starting college classes so I want to take time to get used to my new schedule and all, yanno? So, until around mid-September I won’t be making any updates (except on myspace and flickr) I’ll still be on AIM and stuff so if you must contact me for some reason, you can IM me at ItsAmbrosity.
